Carmine

The word "carmine" has been used as a color name as early as 1799. It is a popular food color, used in yogurt, candy and certain brands of juice, the most notable ones being those of the ruby-red variety.

Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll is used in a wide range of products. It is used in drinks, ice cream, popsicles, candies, sauces, pasta, pickles and even some cheeses.Chlorophyll is also often sold as a health supplement.

Caramel

Caramel Color is the world's most widely used food colorant. It is used largely to impart color in numerous foods and beverages including colas, soy sauce, seasonings, breads, pet foods, cereals, etc. It is also used in some cosmetic and non-food applications. Caramel Color is not a flavor but simply a coloring agent.

Annatto

It is often used to impart a yellow or orange color to foods, but sometimes also for its flavor and aroma. Its scent is described as "slightly peppery with a hint of nutmeg" and flavor as "slightly nutty, sweet and peppery".
